On 31st December, 1914, the 1st Royal Scots Fusiliers battalion of 9 Brigade, 3rd Division moved into trenches at Lindenhoek in Belgium where they remained until relieved on 4th January, 1915. On 2nd January, their position was heavily shelled and three men were killed. Harry Marchant was one of these casualties. |
